- context
- a multi-day destination wedding at warm springs inn & winery in wenatchee, ~100 guests over solstice weekend. the weekend moved through four outdoor spaces: a welcome gathering, a riverside ceremony, dinner and dancing under the gazebo, and a late-night afterparty at a nearby cidery.
- constraint
- each space needed clean coverage without turning the site into a festival rig. the riverside ceremony had to carry vows, a processional, and a live cellist without overpowering the river. the long solstice daylight also meant lighting could not do much work until the sun dropped.
- intervention
we built separate coverage plans for the welcome gathering, riverside ceremony, reception, and cidery afterparty. a compact pa and wireless mics handled the welcome gathering. a dedicated portable pa carried the ceremony, with live sound engineering so the cellist remained audible beside the river. the reception system handled dinner, speeches, and dancing, then a relocated compact system carried the cidery afterparty.
once the sun was down, warm string lights and washes picked out the timber gazebo and the floor.
- outcome
- the ceremony carried vows, the processional, and the cellist beside the river. when the reception ended, the compact system blinked at the gazebo and bloomed at the cidery before the crowd could scatter. the night followed.
